1. Who we are

Yala Media Group LLC ("Yala," "we," "us," or "our") is a technology company based in Atlanta, Georgia. We operate yalamediagroup.com, blog.yalamediagroup.com, newtab.yalamediagroup.com, and the Yala Gives browser extension (collectively, "the Services").

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using any of our Services — including visiting our website, reading our blog, installing our browser extension, or submitting a nonprofit application — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

These terms apply to all users of the Services, including visitors, nonprofit partners, and extension users.

3. What our Services do

Website and blog: We publish informational content about Islamic giving, Muslim personal finance, technology, and professional development. Content on our blog is for informational purposes only and does not constitute religious legal advice, financial advice, or legal counsel.

Browser extension: The Yala Gives Chrome extension applies an Amazon Associates affiliate tag to untagged Amazon purchases made by users who have installed the extension, and displays a custom new tab page at newtab.yalamediagroup.com. The extension only applies our affiliate tag when no existing tag is present — it never overrides tags from content creators or other affiliates.

Nonprofit application: Organizations may apply to be listed as a giving partner on our platform. Listing is subject to verification of active 501(c)(3) status and our sole discretion.

4. The giving model

Yala Media Group generates revenue through advertising and affiliate partnerships. After documented operating costs and a developer fee, 100% of remaining profits are distributed to verified nonprofit partners on a monthly basis. We publish disbursement records publicly.

We make no guarantee of a specific profit amount or disbursement amount in any given month. Revenue from advertising and affiliate programs fluctuates based on user activity, ad network performance, and Amazon purchase behavior.

Users may select a preferred nonprofit partner through the extension. Attribution of revenue to selected organizations is calculated on a proportional basis as described in our transparency documentation. Changes to a selected nonprofit take effect at the start of the following month. Balances below the minimum disbursement threshold of $25 accumulate until the threshold is reached.

5. Intellectual property

All content on our websites — including text, design, code, and graphics — is owned by Yala Media Group LLC or its content contributors and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may share links to our content. You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute our content without written permission, except for brief quotations with proper attribution.

6. Third-party services

Our Services integrate with third-party platforms including Google AdSense, the Amazon Associates Program, and Ghost (our blog platform). Use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third-party services.

The Yala Gives extension redirects new browser tabs to newtab.yalamediagroup.com and applies Amazon affiliate tags as described above. By installing the extension, you consent to this behavior. You may disable individual features of the extension through the extension settings at any time.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that our Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Content published on our blog is for informational purposes only. We are not a licensed financial advisor, Islamic legal scholar, or attorney. Nothing on our websites or in our extensions constitutes financial advice, legal advice, or religious rulings. Always consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Yala Media Group LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use our Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these terms or our Services shall not exceed $100 USD.

9. Nonprofit partner terms

Organizations accepted as nonprofit partners agree to:

• Maintain active 501(c)(3) status throughout the partnership
• Provide a written donation acknowledgment for each disbursement within 30 days of receipt
• Notify Yala Media Group promptly of any change in tax-exempt status, organizational leadership, or banking details
• Allow Yala Media Group to display the organization's name, cause description, and logo on our platform

Either party may terminate the partnership with 30 days written notice. Accumulated balances below the minimum disbursement threshold will be disbursed in full upon termination.

Yala Media Group reserves the right to remove any organization from the platform at any time, including for failure to maintain 501(c)(3) status, reputational concerns, or material misrepresentation in the application process.

10. User conduct

You agree not to use our Services to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the Yala Gives extension
• Submit false or misleading information in a nonprofit application
• Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts our Services

11. Privacy

Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes — such as posting a notice on our website — but we are not obligated to provide direct notice to individual users.

13. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our Services shall be resolved in the courts of Fulton County, Georgia.
